Mild November

Who can believe its the 9th November already???  Another season over!  The site is closed until Sat.19th December 2015.

November so far has been wet and now, the last couple of days windy, but still very mild at 12 degrees today.  Normally it is much colder by now, with a sprinkling of snow on the hill tops!

With only 46 days until Christmas, it will be upon us before we know it!!  If you can’t bare the thought of it and would love to get away from it all why not hire a chalet in the beautiful surroundings of Loch Leven. We are doing a 4 day special break for £395 and you can choose your dates from Sat.19th to Sat.26th Dec. or celebrate the New Year availability from 29th Dec to 3rd Jan., 4 night special only £495 or £895 for our larger cottage available from 30th Dec.

You can enjoy the peace, quiet and stunning scenery from the comfort of the chalets which are warm and cosy. We decorate the chalets with a Christmas tree, so you don’t miss the festive spirit all together!! www.glencoeselfcatering.co.uk

The chalets sleep 4 so they are ideal for a couple, family or friends and if there are more than 4 we have our larger cottage which sleeps 8. all prices include electricity, heating, bed linen and wi-fi access.

If you don’t fancy cooking your Christmas dinner, many of the local hotels are doing special festive menus, for example The Hollytree in Kentallen offers excellent food and stunning surroundings on the edge of Loch Linnhe http://www.hollytreehotel.co.uk  There is also the Ballachulish Hotel which is only 10 mins away http://www.akkeronhotels.com/Hotels/Scottish-Highlands/The-Ballachulish-Hotel/Dining a grand building with stunning views of Loch Linnhe and Loch Leven.

The Clachaig Inn in Glencoe is always a great night out no matter what time of year but over the festive season the atmosphere is great.  There is lots of live music, local beers and good food, have a look at their site to see what’s on http://www.clachaig.com

There may be a good chance of seeing some snow, as usually at this time of year, the mountains around us have a covering and you may be lucky and get some skiing in at the Nevis Range ski resort just outside Fort William www.nevisrange.co.uk

Whatever you fancy doing this Christmas, wether it is a quiet getaway or a get together with friends Loch Leven Holidays accommodation is the place to stay!!!

We have had quite a busy year, which is great, hope it continues next year!!
Our visitors have come from far and wide this year from America to Australia and plenty of our regulars from this country.  It is so nice to see familiar faces and we thank everyone who has stayed with us over the year.  We really appreciate all the fantastic comments on TripAdvisor and anyone who hasn’t given us a review, please do!

We also thank our regular wildlife visitors, our family of Pinemartens, our deer named
Nibbles, our sheep named Shawn and all the other birds, otters and seals, many of our guests have spotted!

The area has seemed very buoyant this year with plenty going on to suit everyone from great bands playing in many of the pubs, great walks being organised by the National Trust, lots of local activities from Segway to clay pigeon shooting, marathons, open water swims, the cycle path being finished to Oban and many many more.  Our area continues to be very popular and our local marketing group is always got plenty on their website for things to do at any time of the year www.discoverglencoe.scot
