After the storms of last week we’ve had a lovely couple of days, these pictures were taken on Tues.9th February. We had a little bit of a clean up after the storms, you can see in the bottom picture that our jetty has taken a bit of a battering!! Obviously, normally pointing straight into the loch it it now lying horizontal on the beach. With the main chains having snapped, it is going to be a bit of work to get it fixed.
Apart from the damage to the jetty, a few slates of the roof and a panel off Tiranui Cottage porch, we faired fairly well!!! There is a good covering of snow now after a few very mild weeks, so hopefully the ski resorts will start to see some business, Glencoe Mountain Resort is a great area to visit, even if you don’t ski. Go and have a cuppa and enjoy the views. Anoch Mor resort in Fort William is also great to visit, you can have a go on the cable car and visit the cafe at the top Nevis Range Join the ski school if you have never skied before!
The site is still currently closed until Sat.19th March, when we re-open for the season, we are doing short breaks over Easter weekend, min 4 nights for £350, give us a call on 01855 821272 or check out our website Loch Leven Holidays
We have been very busy doing our annual big clean and maintenance, all the bathrooms have had a fresh coat of paint, new mirrors and new blinds. We are currently looking to replace the sofas and are just trying to find the right one! Curtains and bed linen in the bedrooms have been re-newed. Lots of bits and pieces fixed or replaced!
Lots of work has been going on in area also, The National Cycle Network has continued to grow in the area and you can now go all the way from Glencoe to Oban, approx 40 miles, it must be one of the most stunning routes in the country. Cycling on loch sides with spectacualr mountain views. They are currently working on the North Ballachulish to Fort William section Cycle Network Take a look at their website to get maps and locations of the routes, a great day out when you are in the area. If you don’t want to bring your own bikes you can hire them in Glencoe from Crank it up
We hope to see many of our regular guests back this year and lots of new faces too!
