Places to Visit
Next to Loch Leven Holidays we have Loch Leven Seafood Café www.lochlevenseafoodcafe.co.uk which offers the freshest seafood cooked by an award winning chef at very competitive prices. What more could you ask for!!
If seafood isn’t your thing they also do various non fish options or if you fancy something more traditional there is The Mac Donald Hotel (www.macdonaldhotel.co.uk) in Kinlochleven which has a wide range of good home cooked meals in the bar or restaurant, only 5 miles away you can drive or get a taxi. If it is just coffee and CAKE you are after Crafts & things in Glencoe is the perfect pit stop for this, all home baking, you can’t resist.
It is a great spot to pick up a few pressies to take home as the craft shop is full of interesting gifts (www.glencoescotland.com)
If all this fresh air is too much or the weather is not too good (hard to believe in Scotland), there are many indoor options.
You can visit the Whiskey Distillery(www.bennevisdistillery.com) in Fort William where Ben Nevis Whiskey is distilled and enjoy a free sample, go to Fired Art (www.fired-art.co.uk) in town and make your very own clay pot while sampling their coffee and homemade cakes, got Ten Pin Bowling at the Nevis Centre(www.neviscentre.co.uk), swimming at the leisure centre, ice climbing at the Ice Factor (www.ice-factor.co.uk) or you can even go and see the rare gems and minerals at the Treasures of the Earth exhibition in Corpach near Fort William.
Alternatively you can put a c.d. on, pick up a book and gaze out at the loch and the Glencoe mountains from the warm and comfy sofas in your chalets or cottage!!
Many of our visitors use us as a centre for touring, you can easily get to Fort William, Oban, Inverness or perhaps across to Perthshire. Pitlochry, Aberfeldy and Killin are all lovely places to visit. All these places are on scenic routes with fabulous stop offs to break the journey.
However, if you don’t feel like going far you can enjoy fishing from our jetty, canoeing in the Loch or just chilling on the beach front. Children can play outdoors in a safe natural environment (a great spot for exploring!).
As you can see there is plenty to do in and around Loch Leven and also a bit further a field. You can be as active or, not as you like!
You are in an area in which is difficult to choose which direction to travel. There is so much spectacular scenery to take in, your camera will be very busy!
