Spring is coming!!

What a busy couple of months we have had here at Loch Leven Holidays, plenty of painting, repairing and maintenance for the new season.   We had a good Easter with lots of visitors to the area, although most of them were here just for a long weekend, I think many though the weather would be bad but in fact it was lovely, nice and bright & sunny.  The west coast seems to have faired much better over the winter than the rest of the country, with lots of snow on the hills but not any low lying!  This picture was taken looking down onto the site from the hill behind the chalets back in the middle of March.

Loch Leven Chalets are now on Trip advisor and we are currently No.2 of 27 speciality lodgings in Fort William!  We have had some fantastic reviews and we thank everyone very much who has taken the time to write a review for us.  We welcome any comments and try to use them all good or bad to make your holiday a special one.  If you have stayed and haven’t already written a review, we would very much appreciate your opinions.  http://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Hotel_Review-g186545-d3974804-Reviews-Loch_Leven_Chalets-Fort_William_Lochaber_Scottish_Highlands_Scotland.html

There has been plenty of wildlife activity over the last few weeks, we have had regular visits from 2 stags, one of which lost his antler and we have placed it in the tree stump behind the house.  The pine martens have been making their regular visits to the chalets in search of food and we have 2 male and 1 female ducks on the shore front who come up to the house every day to feed on the seeds and nuts from the bird feeder.  This is a picture of the antlers with some added decoration, one of our guests took several pictures of the site with added Moshi Monsters!  If you have never heard of them, they are a childrens craze at the moment!!

The area is getting geared up for the annual Pre-65 and Six Day motorbike trials which take place every year at the end of April and beg. of May.  It is always a very busy time for the area and accommodation is often hard to come by.  We have our cottage available from 4th May for 1 week, it sleeps up to 8 people but if your group is smaller (4 or less) we can give you at least 25 % off the normal price.  Normally £930 but special small group price from £690, please email enquiries@glencoeselfcatering.co.uk or phone on 01855 821272

The area is buzzing and there is always loads going on, even if you aren’t that interested in bikes.  Check out What’s on in Lochaber for details http://www.lochaber.com/whatson  The Clachaig Inn in Glencoe is always great for a night out or a bite to eat www.clachaig.com  If seafood and shellfish is what you like, you must try Loch Leven Seafood Cafe, which is just a 5 min walk from the chalets www.lochlevenseafoodcafe.co.uk  It serves the finest fresh fish and shellfish in the area, well worth a visit.  Awarded best SCottish seafood restaurant of the year last year, speaks for itself!!!
