Spring is in the air!!

It’s been a wee while since we posted anything to our blog, sorry!! It’s been a long and very wet winter but today 31st March is gorgeous, warm and sunny!! Hopefully spring is here at last. We have daffodils in the garden and the grass is beginning to grow and with still a sprinkling of snow on the hills, it really looks gorgeous today!
We managed not to sustain any damage through the winter, so we were very lucky. It was very wet and windy, although the ski slopes reported to having some of the best snow in years, there were several days when they couldn’t open because of the high winds. We hope anyone who was affected by the storms and flooding are starting to get back on their feet.
We are looking forward to a new season and hopefully seeing many new and old faces, the diary is filling up quickly, so fingers crossed for a good year. Through the winter we were busy doing lots of work in the chalets, all the chalets now have new electric pump showers, so this should make the flow of water better. This was the only thing most people asked for, was a better shower! We have new bed linen and soft furnishings in all the properties. As usual they were all thoroughly deep cleaned and all the carpets shampooed for the new season.
As everyone gets geared up for the next year there is lots going on in the area. We now have the first ever Via Ferrata in Scotland, in Kinlochleven, it runs beside the 3rd biggest waterfall in Scotland, the Grey Mares Tail. It means you can access this area without the risks with unprotected climbing. Take a look at the website, it is run by Vertical Descents, who also run various other activities in the area.
You can hire a self drive motor boat from Free Spirit, a new company who hires electric driven motor boats by the hour. Based at the top of Neptunes staircase, they are eco-friendly, silent and clean running. You can cruise the Caledonian canal, great way to experience this iconic waterway.
