September Already!

Now that all the kids are back to school, the area seems to be a little quieter, although there are still plenty of visitors in the area.

Although the weather this summer has been awful it didn’t seem to put many people off coming to the area. although today is stunning as you can see by the photos below, it only takes 1 day like this to forget all the rain!!

We have had many European guests staying this year with several from Germany and the Netherlands. “Paradise!”

I should add a review, even though it’s 3 or 4 years since I went last. I first came here on a family holiday in 1981 just after they were built and came back with my Mrs in 2012. Loch Leven is one of the most perfect, tranquil places on earth and these chalets are a home from home. We cooked for ourself, and used it as a base to travel far and wide across the Highlands. When there are 3-4 of you all chipping in, it works out much, much cheaper than a hotel as well. The owners (Ian and Sharon?) are also very helpful and welcoming. Fabulous.

The chalets are amidst a stunning location overlooking loch leven and the pap or Glencoe. The views are very dramatic and spectacular. Simply beautiful. There’s a lot of wildlife around, a little pinemartin appeared on our balcony each night for bread and jam. The chalets are basic and comfortable. The owners were lovely very friendly and helpful. Great base to tour the gorgeous surrounding area. About 5 or 6 miles drive to Kinlochleven where there are shops etc and if you go for a wander here you may stumble across a stunning waterfall. Would recommend!

“great time at great place”

We have spent a great week at Loch leven. The location is amazing, very peacefull und placaed within a beautiful scenery. The chalets are very clean, comfortable, well equipped and even proper cooking for the whole family is possible. The only one thing we missed was a coffee machine, but we were not surprised. Also the beds are very good quality. There are also a lot of books and games for kids and adults as well.
Surely we will come back in the future!
