We returned for another fortnight in April/May. Once again we had a lovely welcome from Ian and Sharon and soon settled into our usual chalet. Having been visiting for 14 years this seems like home from home now. The chalets are lovely and warm in cold weather and nice and its nice to sit out on the verandah in sunny weather. We come to watch the Scottish Six Days Trial and do some bird watching. Its a great base for both of these activities. The chalets have plenty of kitchen equipment for self catering and the beds are comfortable. We have already rebooked for next year.
Longest Day
Posted on 21st June, 2017
Doesn’t time fly!!! The Longest Day of the year and half way throu
gh the year, and now the nights are drawing in!!! Well not quite yet. We have had a busy year so far and hopefully a busy few months to come.
The grass and flowers etc are growing quickly, its taking all our time just to keep on top of the mowing, everything looks lovely and green and all the sunshine and rain we have been having has definitely helped. The weather hasn’t been great the last couple of weeks, even thought the rest of the country is basking in 30 degree heat, although we did have a beautiful day yesterday and it’s looking pretty good today.
The area was very busy in May with the annual motor bike trials, Pre65 and 6 day, the area was amass with bikes and spectators, and the weather was really goo for the riders. A great time to visit the area whether you like bikes or not, the area is buzzing.
We had Glencoe Regatta a couple of weeks ago, with lots of lovely yachts coming up Loch Leven, normally a very quiet Loch, it looked fabulous with all the boats.
With the Scottish school children finishing up next week fro the summer holidays there is plenty to keep them occupied throughout the summer. If you are heading up to the area on holiday take a look at www.discoverglencoe.com for lots of ideas on how to fill your time. Also www.glencoeactivities.com has loads to do from Segway rides to bike hire to white water rafting! There is something for everyone depending on how adventurous you want to be!!

Our third very happy visit in 12 years. Chalet just as warm and comfortable as it was on our first stay with fully equipped kitchen, bath and shower in the bathroom. Stunning views from the kitchen and French windows which change minute by minute with the weather. Visited for the first time with our dog who was welcome in most shops and bars which made for a really easy time as well as the amazing scenery to walk in. The ice factor at Kinlochleven is an amazing place our son climbed the ice wall, rock climbed and had individual instruction on bouldering. We enjoyed coffee and cake while watching him and received lots of advice about good dog walks … once again the dog was allowed in Too much to do to mention it all but the sea life centre near Oban is also a favourite of ours. The pine marten loves jam and white bread and we saw a deer wander in between the lodges one evening. Ian and Sharon are lovely hosts and we hope to return again soon.
