Summer holidays!

Monday, July 23, 2018

Doesn’t time fly!!!  Nearly the end of July already, we have passed the longest day and now the nights are drawing in!!!  Starting to notice a difference from June, when it doesn’t seem to get really dark at all.  We have had a busy year so far and hopefully a busy few months to come.

The grass and flowers etc are growing quickly, its taking all our time just to keep on top of the mowing, everything looks lovely and green and all the sunshine we have been having has definitely helped.  The weather has been great with plenty of sunny, warm days.

Taken a few weeks ago when there was still a sprinkling of snow on the tops!

The area was very busy in May with the annual motor bike trials, Pre65 and 6 day, the area was amass with bikes and spectators, and the weather wasn’t too bad for the riders.  A great time to visit the area whether you like bikes or not, the area is buzzing.

We had Glencoe Regatta a couple of weeks ago, with lots of lovely yachts coming up Loch Leven, normally a very quiet Loch, it looked fabulous with all the boats.

With the English school children finishing up last week for the summer holidays there is plenty to keep them occupied throughout the summer.   If you are heading up to the area on holiday take a look at for lots of ideas on how to fill your time.  Also has loads to do from Segway rides to bike hire to white water rafting!  There is something for everyone depending on how adventurous you want to be!!

We continue to get some fantastic reviews on Tripadvisor and we thank very much all our guests who have taken the time and effort to write a review.  If you have stayed with us and haven’t written a review please do so using this link  we really appreciate it.  Also check out our Facebook page which has loads of pictures and things going on in the area, please like our page!

Great chalet with everything you need, and what a view to wake up to every day!
Take a pair of binoculars and sit on the terrace to see the most amazing sights on the hills around the loch. This was a great base for us to explore the area, and the highlight was the ice climbing centre……very cool!
We had an amazing time, and will certainly be back again.

We stayed in Stag Chalet with our dog which met all our requirements and more. The chalet was very comfortable and clean. This is a great place to stay and explore this beautiful part of Scotland and then come ‘home’ to the relaxing chalet with its great views of Loch Leven. We saw the Pine Martin on our last evening which gave us a shock as the Patio door open with dog on the floor and not expecting to see it!! Couldn’t have been better, thank you Ian and Sharon, and hopefully will be back.

Great stay at some lovely accommodation with my daughter. Chalet nice and clean, and everything you need. Location perfect. Only one regret was not coming prepared for the overly friendly midges, due to warm weather and closeness to the loch.
Will definitely come a 3rd time.
